Moss & Mere is a contemporary nature retreat shaped by lakes, fells, woodland, changing skies, and the quieter traditions of northern England. Stay in thoughtful studios and houses, bathe outdoors, eat from the surrounding landscape, and explore the Lake District at your own rhythm.
Built for people who want fewer distractions and more landscape.
The retreat is inspired by Lake District stone barns, boat sheds, working farms, quiet woodland shelters, and the simple materials traditionally used across Cumbria.
Local stone, oak, wool, lime plaster, brushed metal, and wide windows create spaces that feel grounded, practical, and closely connected to the weather outside.
